Coffee has never really been just about the drink
Grounds of Origin begins with Ryde Jeavons - a coffee educator, café owner, and coach with over 25 years in the industry. He's built and sold multiple cafes, trained thousands of baristas, and through his YouTube channel Coffee Coach, helped countless people brew better coffee at home - all with warmth, knowledge, and zero judgement.
But for Ryde, coffee has never really been just about the drink. It's about the conversations sparked across a coffee table, the ritual of a shared morning brew, the connection to the farmers on the other side of the world. One of the last truly mindful moments in a busy day.
Of course, none of that means anything if the coffee isn't exceptional. Every lot we stock is specialty grade, carefully selected and roasted to bring out the best of where it came from. The connection matters - but so does what's in your cup.

Our Arana Hills café is where it all comes to life. Mostly takeaway, always welcoming - the kind of place where you grab an exceptional coffee and end up in a great conversation about brewing, beans, or whatever's happening in your week.
Our baristas are genuinely passionate about what they do. Knowledgeable without being precious, and always happy to talk you through a new origin, help you dial in your home setup, or just catch up on how things are going.
We also stock a curated range of home coffee gear, fresh beans to take away, and light food to keep you going. Whether you're a daily regular or visiting for the first time, you'll always leave with something worth coming back for.
