We’re super excited to announce that we have a new roastery joining the CBD site! The awesome Cesar and Nico, from Colombian Connection, actually roast in the same location as Neoma’s Mars, and when we took a trip the roastery last month and saw and tasted their beans, we were hooked!
Colombian Connection roasts beans 100% sourced from Colombia. And you might think that some variety might be lacking, since all the beans were grown in the same country… Think again. Colombia has a huge diversity of climates and ecosystems, from high altitude areas, volcanic soils and abundant water, these things bring out richness and body of the unique flavours.
Cesar and Nico both travelled from Colombia to Australia, as an Audio and Music Engineering Student and Industrial Engineer, respectively. They met working as baristas and bonded over their passion for Colombian coffee. The endeavoured to refine the flavours, tastes and aromas that have become their signature.
Their aim now is to become the prime specialists in the complex and widely ranging varieties of Colombian coffee.
They offer a beautifully balanced signature Supremo blend, that is rich in flavour, never bitter, with a full body and balanced acidity. The blend has a fruity flavour, that blends beautifully with the caramel and chocolate notes from the micro-lots that they meticulously select. The Supremo Blend is now available on CBD.
The other exciting thing we have worked with Cesar and Nico to create is a Colombian Adventure Sampler pack. Similar to our All-Rounder and Blind-Fold Packs, the Colombian Adventure pack contains 4x250g bags or 2x500g bags (based on what’s available) of single origin Colombian beans. This is truly going to be an adventure, as Cesar works closely to only import the highest quality, in season, green-beans. So you have to enjoy it while you can, because even we don’t know when it will be available again!
